Congratulations! You must feel like a proud new parent...and rightfully so! After all the excitement of setting up your newborn's nursery, picking out all of the matching furniture, stroller, and car seat, bringing home the precious little pink-faced bundle, you are at the fabulous stage of  buying clothes. This is quite an exciting event, especially for first time parents. Before you hit the stores, though, let us discuss the types of baby clothing out there. There are many different types to choose from, and we are going to focus on organic baby clothes. What is all the fuss and buzz about organic clothing anyway? Well that is exactly what we will be talking about in this article.

Before you go any further in your reading of this article, please take note of the following. I am not by any means here to convince you to change around your entire lifestyle to become eco-friendly or anything of the sort. Living a green life is a great thing, but not necessarily is it for everyone, which I why I would never tell you one way or another. I am simply here to inform you about the benefits of organic clothing.

By now, I think that it has become a part of our very being to read the labels and pay attention to the ingredients in the foods we eat and that we give our families. How much do these habits matter? No one knows for sure but some will argue over the significance of these decisions. We need to pay attention to these arguments, do our own research, and know how to make the best decisions for our families.

Over time, research about green lifestyles expanded as far as clothing. Natural clothes fibers are subject to some of the same influences in their early stages that our foods are. They have processing routines that they go through that also involve exposure to chemicals and other processes that may change the fibers or add to them. Research shows that some of these changes and additions may be exposing us to things we are better off avoiding altogether.

There are a few benefits that are worth noting. First off, the comfort of the baby is greatly increased.  Environmental and health quality is increases as production of these materials produces less waste. I can personally tell you that organic baby clothes and bedding are extremely soft and rich to the touch in comparison to non-organic baby items. There is no doubt that you will agree once you have held something up to your own cheek. Touch them and feel the difference.

Regarding health benefits, many babies have sensitive skin. Yes, believe it or not, but that wrinkly pinkish yellowish soft skin is quite touchy. There are many allergens and unknown ingredients or fibers in regular clothing. This can present the opportunity for red and itchy patches all over the skin. Since organic baby clothes contain all 100% natural things in them, you can rest assured that your baby will be more comfortable wearing them.

There are many different lines of organic clothes to look into if you are interested in pursuing this for your baby's new layette. You can look up the following companies online to get more information about them and their clothing; Sage Creek Organics and Honeyroo Organics. There are many more companies that make and/or sell organic clothing, but these are just two of my personal favorites. Look out for the materials and textiles that are used to make the clothing, the quality of the materials, and of course, the prices. Organic clothing is using a bit pricier than regular clothes, due to the finer quality textiles that are used to make the clothes. However, do not let the prices scare you off. The great quality and long lasting attributes will pay for itself. You will not regret paying the price when you see the organic clothes after a year in comparison to regular clothes.

Now that you know a little bit more about organic baby clothes, and you are equipped with more information and knowledge, feel free to hit the shops! Just remember to be on the lookout for clothing that have labels such as "organic", "eco-friendly", "environment friendly", "100% natural", "all natural", and the like. Enjoy yourself and happy shopping!
