First we'll look at the repellent that comes in the form of granules. These usually come in a can and can be shaken around the area that you want your dog to keep away from. These granules put out an offensive odor to dogs, but not to humans. It starts to work as soon as you put it down around the area and can be used outdoors. This is an excellent tool for keeping your dog out of places such as your flower garden or patio. Prices for the granules vary but you can purchase them for as little as $10.95.

These dog repellent sprays work in the same way that they send out an offensive odor to the dogs, but are completely safe to humans. You can use these sprays on the same places you would use the granules outside, but you can also put it on your furniture and carpets inside. The repellent begins to work as soon as you spray it onto wherever you want your dog to stay away from. Repellent sprays are around the same price as granules, from about $10.

You simply put it in the place you want your pet to keep away from, and if your dog comes near it sends out a warning sound and lets out compressed air to keep them away. Once your dog starts to recognize the sound, you can switch it to where it only lets out the sound. These repellents detect motion up to three feet away and they usually cost around $50.
